Expert on planning a careers pathway through making the right higher education choices, as well as making a strong UCAS application and work experience planning.
Sasha was independently educated from 3-18 at both day and boarding schools and then studied for a BA degree in business at Oxford Brooks University.
She had an extensive business career, working for a wide range of corporations including Microsoft Corporation, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Shell, the Bank of England as well as small business start-ups. Sasha lived in Asia for many years, so developed an in-depth understanding of a diversity of cultures and the expectations of international parents.
Upon moving to Buckinghamshire, Sasha took a career break to spend time raising her 3 children, now aged 14-17 years. Through her experiences of making education choices for her own family, as well as regular discussions regarding shared issues and challenges with friends over coffee and dinner, Sasha has an in-depth understanding of the dilemmas parents face at various ages and stages of education.
When ready to return to work, Sasha decided to pursue her passion for all children and teenagers to get the best from their educational opportunities. She was appointed senior consultant for a London based education consultancy, acting as lead consultant for the Higher Education and Careers team. She is a member of the ICG – The Institute of Career Guidance.
In 2011 Sasha co-founded The Independent Education Consultants, sharing Catherine’s commitment to moving away from the London-office based education consultancy model to focus instead on investment in offering friendly, independent, cost-effective education consultancy advice to parents in both the UK and overseas from her home-office base.
As a senior member of the associate consultancy team, Sasha particularly enjoys building close working relationships with families who come to her for advice. Indeed, many return for her advice time and time again as their child or other siblings progress along the timeline of education. Her particular passions are mentoring teenagers who are having a tricky time organising their work at school or keeping focused towards important exams, as well as planning sixth form subject choices and making a strong application to the right course at the right UK university along a planned career path. Her own experiences as a Mum mean she engages effectively in a supportive and friendly way with both teenagers and parents alike.
